Blogger's Quilt Festival :: My Dreamsicle Quilt

Hello to my regular readers. This is an encore post of sorts...or at least the photos are. I'm participating in the Blogger's Quilt Festival. If you like looking at beautiful quilts and finding new quilting bloggers, this is a great way to do it.

This year I'm showing off my recently completed Dreamsicle string quilt for our youngest daughter Violet. It holds a lot of meaning for me since I made it while Violet was being such a strong little fighter in the NICU. It was also my first string quilt -- and definitely won't be my last!

I'm most proud that this was my first attempt at stippling. Also, I made this quilt entirely from my stash (which my husband appreciates!). And I love that I was able to incorporate all of my favorite fabrics because isn't that the beauty of a string quilt?

I had hoped to be able to show off a lap-sized quilt I've been making for myself. It features more than two dozen Heather Ross Munki Munki prints and is just a rainbow of color. But it's still waiting on binding, so you'll have to check back soon to see pictures.

Thanks for visiting. If you came by way of the festival, I'd love to hear where in the world you live!

What a beautiful baby ...errr... I mean QUILT!! Sorry, the baby is too cute and she distracted me. That quilt looks amazing. I'm afraid to start a string quilt. They looks so intimidating, but they sure have the WOW effect.
